Position Summary
This position provides operational assistance to the Manager of the Construction Business Development Center (CBDC) and the Construction Business Specialists and assists in the development and implementation of CBDC education and training programs.

Reporting and Supervisory Relationships
Direct reporting relationship to the
Manager of the Construction Business Development Center. Supports the activities of the Construction Business Specialists for Zone 1 (Chicago and South Suburbs) and Zone 4 (Rockford).

Essential Responsibilities
1. Assists in creating and supporting the delivery of technical assistance for CBDC clients.
2. Develops a weekly bulletin to send to clients, resources and potential clients.
3. Works with the Illinois Tollway Diversity Department to apprise them on events and coordinate marketing of events and the CBDC program.
4. Provides updates on the CBDC website.
5. Answers general inquiries regarding the program, and routing specific inquires to the appropriate Construction Business Specialist or Manager.
6. Registers students for classes. Works with instructors to verify course material and class room assignments.
7. Prepares purchase orders for goods and services based on direction from the Manager.
8. Maintains signed copies of all transactions and documentation for audit purposes.
9. Using Salesforce (or other database application), maintains accurate records of all CBDC client information. This includes, but is not limited to, the status on the completion of their assigned work plan, bid submissions, and the amount spent on each client.
10. Performs duties as assigned within the scope of the department and consistent with the role of the position.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate's degree.
2. Five years of job-related experience.
3. Demonstrated history of marketing experience.
4. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
5. Proficient computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, etc.
6. Flexible schedule. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
7. Must have reliable transportation. Some travel may be required to Rockford or Chicago and surrounding area.
8. Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Experience with education program development and administration.
3. Prior experience assisting small and emerging firms grow their capacity.
4. Experience with using databases to maintain client information and provide reports
