Qualifications Desired:
Masters degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of admissions experience in higher education; 3+ years of supervisory/management responsibilities preferred.
  • Advanced computer and data management skills, including CRM, MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Banner or similar ERP systems, and Hyperion or similar reporting systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of direct mail marketing, web based marketing, publications and call center in a college admissions environment.

    Job Description Summary:
    The Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for providing leadership for the Graduate Admissions Office, managing the daily operations of graduate admissions, implementing and administering initiatives designed to target, recruit, admit, and enroll graduate students for both on- and off-campus and online programming.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Serve as a senior administrator to the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
  • Participate in enrollment planning with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and staff.
  • Develop annual territory and funnel management plans to meet enrollment and revenue goals.
  • Develop and oversee the successful execution of the graduate recruitment plan by supervising and evaluating admissions staff, planning and executing recruitment events both on- and off-campus, and maintaining communication with prospective students.
  • Mentor, train, appraise, evaluate, and provide additional professional development opportunities for admissions staff, take the lead on projects pertinent to the success of the enrollment plan; prospect development, on campus programming, and territory management.
  • Direct the application, review, evaluation, and applicant acceptance processes; read applications in assigned territories. Direct and participate in planning and execution of all recruitment and yield events. Work closely with graduate faculty in the admissions process.
  • Review and enforce appropriate office protocols as they pertain to application processing.
  • Analyze and review recruiting, marketing and financial aid activities.
  • Hire, supervise, and train professional staff.
  • Manage and participate in travel responsibilities as they relate to recruitment and represent the College on admissions issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and the Vice President's management team.
  • Acquire and maintain accurate information relating to the College's mission and academic programs.
  • Coordinate operations with contracted provider(s) of online course delivery to recruit new online students/cohorts.
  • Manage day-to-day operations.
  • Perform other duties as required.

    ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR DUTIES:

  • Recruits, rewards and retains effective staff: Develops a work team characterized by achievement of departmental goals, contribution to achievement, high quality customer service and behavior congruent with the Charter of Core Values.

    o Supervises staff of two or more employees.
    o Completes orientation of new employees within 1 month of hire.
    o Ensure that employees have tools required to work effectively.
    o Completes probationary review of new employees within 90 days of hire.
    o Provides clear direction on expectations and job responsibilities.
    o Provides regular, constructive, developmental feedback on performance.
    o Conducts annual performance evaluations in a timely manner.
    o Meets regularly with staff to keep them informed of College initiatives.
    o Compiles with College policies and procedures for human resources.
    o Ensures compliance with work safety regulations.
    o Develop effective teamwork among employees.
    o Provides ongoing training and development for employees.
    o Participates in planning for continuity of staffing within department.

  • Stewards Financial Resources: Manages departmental resources with strict attention to effective use of financial and material resources in achieving Mission as spelled out in the College wide goals and strategic plan for the College.

    o Develops annual departmental budget in keeping with budgetary guidelines.
    o Monitors costs and reconciles expense reports on a monthly basis.
    o Identifies and implements cost effectiveness measures in department.
    o Operates departmental operations within the budget guidelines.
    o Assists other departments in maximizing revenue and controlling costs.
    o Shares ideas for College wide opportunities to controlling costs and maximizing revenue.

  • Leadership: Acts as a leader in implementing initiatives to promote the Mission of the College and to build a learning community on campus.

    o Support Mission of College and strategic initiatives to achieve Mission.
    o Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Core Values and spirit of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini.
    o Supports administrative decisions in implementing strategic initiatives.

    o Submits annual report in a timely manner.
    o Actively participates in updating strategic plan.
    o Provides regular updates on progress in achieving annual goal.
    o Collaborates with other departments to achieve College wide goals.
    o Communicates College wide initiatives to staff in timely and accurate manner.
