Teaching Credentials: California State University, Sacramento invites applications for a tenure track position in the College of Education: Special Education with an Emphasis on Mild/Moderate (High Incidences) Disabilities at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank beginning August 2019. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Education with an emphasis on special education in mild/moderate (high incidences) disabilities. Candidates in the final stages of a doctoral program will be considered with evidence of completion by August 2019. The program curriculum features a Dual Credential pathway in which candidates earn a Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential as well as a Multiple Subject Credential. Faculty work collaboratively with school partners to place student teachers in inclusive settings to provide opportunities for collaboration/co-teaching with general educators. Required qualifications for this position include the following: knowledge of methodologies to support the learning of students with mild/moderate (high incidences) disabilities, collaborate with other educators, and engage families and care providers; legal and historical aspects of public education and services to students with disabilities; inclusive service delivery models for students with mild/moderate (high incidences) disabilities. Ability to teach to students in undergraduate, credential, and graduate programs. Experience must include: Working with or teaching students with mild/moderate (high incidences) disabilities; working with students from diverse cultures; working or teaching in urban school settings serving students PK-22, English Learners, or youth from a variety of language, ethnically/racially diverse communities and cultural background; and experience using instructional technologies to enhance student learning. Special consideration will be given to those with a STEM knowledge base and experience with STEM teaching. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and professional experience.
