Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor, Film TV Production

About the Opportunity

Job Description

The Department of Communication Studies at Northeastern University invites applications for a non-tenure track position teaching hands on practical courses in video production. Courses may include - Sound Production for Digital Media, TV Studio Production, TV Field Production, Digital Editing. We are looking for candidates with the ability to create additional courses to expand and strengthen our production curriculum, and to contribute to Department and College curricular developments across disciplinary lines. We welcome a variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches, but we are particularly interested in candidates who engage with complementary fields such as film, television, journalism and the entertainment industry. The position carries a 3-3 teaching load.

Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must have: (1) An MFA or a M.A. with relevant professional experience by the appointment start date; (2) at least one year of documented experience teaching production related courses; and (3) a history of scholarly activity (presentations at academic conferences and/or published research) or equivalent professional activity. This position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor (commensurate with qualifications/experience).
