College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University

The College of Health Sciences at Sam Houston State University announces its search for two
innovative leaders with solid records of academic accomplishment and organizational leadership.
Both of these positions provide dynamic individuals the opportunity to lead and effect positive
change in a growing, top regional university.

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs OR Research and Graduate Programs:

The Associate Dean is a critical member of the college's administrative leadership team and
participates in university-wide initiatives. The College includes four units: School of Nursing,
Population Health, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Kinesiology. The Associate Dean assists the
Dean in guiding the College, providing leadership and oversight for one of two general areas:
academic affairs or graduate programs/research (depending on skill set and area of expertise).

Department Chair, Family and Consumer Sciences:

The Chair is the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences' chief academic and administrative
officer, overseeing the department's programs of education, research, and service to the campus and
surrounding communities. The department is home to five academic programs: Family and Consumer
Sciences (with the option for teacher certification), Fashion Merchandising, Food Science and
Nutrition, Food Service Management, and Interior Design.
