Assistant Football Coach- SACHS

Position Summary
The Assistant Football Coach for St. Anthony Catholic High School is responsible for supporting the Head Coach with all assigned duties and coaching and providing direction to student-athletes so that they might achieve a high-level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in football. All position areas are available, and possible Defensive Coordinator.

Description of Job Duties
-Assist the Head Coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport;
-Organize and directs individual and small group practice activities and teaches fundamentals necessary for the position he coaches;
-Assess players skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the Head Coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes;
-Assist with determining game strategy;
-Assist the Head Coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition;
-Follow established procedures in the event of an athletes injury;
-Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators;
-Participate in special activities to include parents night, banquets, awards night and pep assemblies;
-Attend staff meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance;
-Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Principal and Athletic Director

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Extensive knowledge of position (will be multiple positions)
-Knowledge of HUDL and film breakdown
-Possess effective coaching techniques and skills;
-Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport;
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Required Education
High School Diploma or its equivalent

Required Work Experience
Two (2) years coaching experience; College playing experience can be substituted for coaching experience year for year.

Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelor Degree or higher;
-High school varsity playing experience;
-A strong role model for students;
-Knowledge of SACHS and 5 Core Values;
-Possession of commercial drivers license

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
-CPR Certified;
-Concussion Risk Certification;
-CDL or obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire date

Work Hours
Duties include evenings & weekend responsibilities (including Sundays)
