Position Overview: This position is a full-time, tenure-track teaching position in special education in the Henney Department of Education at Manchester University. This position will teach a diverse student population and will demonstrate a value of differences and inclusivity. It will support the modeling of inclusive pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching. The position's primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Education, including mild intervention, elementary/secondary methods, and other courses as needed.  The position includes the CAEP accreditation data collection and analysis process.  Workload may include observations of teacher candidates in clinical experiences.  This position will uphold the Manchester University mission statement. Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required, PhD or EdD preferred

  • Knowledge and experience sufficient to effectively teach courses as assigned in special education and pedagogy

  • Teaching experience in P-12 school setting

  • Effective presentation skills

  • Effective organizational and administrative skills

  • Ability to deliver course content and to assist students in understanding course content

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, faculty, staff and administrators

  • Ability to adapt to changing teaching and learning environments and content-delivery methods

  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, in the best interests of the students

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and respond to students' legitimate needs in a timely manner

  • Ability and willingness to work with students of all skill levels and academic backgrounds

  • Ability and willingness to perform clerical work for oneself, as necessary

  • Basic leadership, budgetary and supervisory skills

  • Proficient in spoken and written English

  • Basic computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email. electronic classroom platforms, and internet use
