College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

Job Summary
This Department Administrator 1's primary goal is to provide strategic input to the Director of the MCG Center for Telehealth. The Director of the MCG Center for Telehealth is charged with developing a center to facilitate the delivery of patient care through Telehealth platforms. Initiatives will include training and education offerings across the State of Georgia to increase provider and patient participation in these service platforms. The center will work closely with internal and external customers to identify and coordinate provider service needs to enhance state-wide collaborations and improve patient access to quality healthcare across the state. The Center will develop and support research initiatives that support the University strategic initiatives.

This position will be a vital member of the MCG Center for Telehealth, working jointly with the director managing and building collaborations across all MCG campuses and MCG's partner academic health center to connect patient populations to academic healthcare resources. Success will require strong collaboration and organization skills as well as the ability to work independently, with direction but little direct supervision. Viable candidates are initiative-taking and process-driven with strong follow up skills and financial acumen.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Administration: Assist in the identification of resource needs; Facilitate Human Resource submissions in compliance with AU policy; Facilitate purchasing activities within AU and AU Health per AU and AU Health policy; Oral and written communications with internal and external stakeholders; Contract development and routing. (Initial and Renewals); Establish, implement, and manage operating policies; Database development (partnerships, credentialing, inventory, finances, etc.); Development of Annual Reports; Development of Monthly metrics; Provide and ensure customer-friendly service; Support quality initiatives as directed; Serves on advisory board and committees related to the Center.

Budget: Establish annual original budget; Monitor needs to adjust budgets and ensure operating expenses are within funds available; Manage and maintain a balanced budget throughout the fiscal year across various fund source types; Monitor staff and faculty salary distributions to ensure consistency with funding and effort commitments for effort directed to Center grants and/or contracts; Coordinate with faculty home departments to adjust any inconsistencies.

Grants: Prepare and assist in "grant" submissions for center: Generate internal budget based on salaries, supplies, travel, equipment for all Principal Investigators submitting extramural/intramural grants; Work closely with faculty to determine FTE (based on current funding) for grant submissions: generate and prepare budgets for various agencies; Route internal budget through eSproute for approvals; Generate grant files in "Assist, Workspace, eBRAP,, era commons; Complete all administrative portions of files (to be submitted); upload grant files; review grant files based on criteria for fonts, spacing, etc.; Work with Sponsored Administration to make corrections, etc. prior to submission; Prepare, "other support" for Just-In-Time information; Work with Sponsored programs prior to submissions progress reports: Initiate RPPR progress reports in Commons, enter administrative sections, calculate TE for PI, Co-Investigators, personnel, and report on RPPR; Monitor active research projects to maximize extramural funding while ensuring ongoing compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.

Other: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, along with two years of demonstrated administrative management experience OR Associate's degree, along with four years of demonstrated administrative management experience.

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Grade: 18

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
