Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Deputy Director in Las Vegas, NV. The Deputy Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Nevada Industry Excellence (NVIE) program in Southern Nevada, including supervision of Project Managers in Las Vegas. NVIE works directly with Nevada's industrial companies to speed the flow of new technology, information, best business practices, and workforce development by providing both direct and referral services focused primarily to manufacturing and related industries. The Deputy Director is NVIE's key representative in Southern Nevada, and will maintain and develop strong community relationships through a variety of outreach initiatives. This position is responsible for the supervision of the technical portion of multiple programs, projects and grants. The Deputy Director oversees NVIE operations in southern Nevada, ensuring sales and performance fulfill cash flow and client satisfaction requirements. Client success and economic impact from each project is measured by independent client surveys. This position reports to NVIE's Director and covers for the Director as needed. To be successful, the Deputy Director will have a strong understanding of manufacturing, sales management, B2B marketing, business management, and the industrial sector in southern Nevada.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and three years of management and related professional work experience; OR a Master's Degree and two years of management and/or related professional work experience.

Related Experience: Experience in Project Management, Finance, Engineering and/or Industrial Operation and processes.

A valid driver's license and personal vehicle for reimbursable travel expenses is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Executive and commercial technical sales experience is helpful.
