About the Opportunity:
The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship (MPF) is a full-time AmeriCorps program housed within the Office of City and Community Engagement at Northeastern University. MPF places 40 AmeriCorps Fellows at 38 non-profit and school site partners across the state annually. Fellows lead out-of-school time programs for youth in grades 6-12 focused on increasing academic engagement through college and career exploration and academic enrichment programming. The Director will lead MPF in fulfilling its mission of mobilizing AmeriCorps members to build intentional youth relationships to support on time graduation and post-secondary success.

Responsibilities:
The Director will oversee all aspects of the program including, but not limited to managing program staff, managing program finances through federal grant compliance and fundraising initiatives, facilitating internal and external partnerships, and leading program promotion. The Director will also serve on the City & Community Engagement Director Team, supporting University initiatives and events.

Key Responsibilities for the role include:

Program Leadership
Lead program vision and implementation, seeking avenues for improvement and meeting all AmeriCorps requirements

Manage and coach two MPF full time staff members and 1-2 Senior Fellows

Oversee MPF's 12-member Advisory Board in capacity building and strategy

Support site partners and Fellows by providing resources, leading trainings and facilitating mediations and performance plans

Oversee program monitoring, including data collection and AmeriCorps compliance

Manage all human resources operations for Fellows, including background checks, healthcare and payroll

Work in collaboration with Northeastern partners

Fundraising & Fiscal Oversight
Oversee fundraising for program's $1.5 million annual budget

Create and manage annual budget and lead all grant fiscal reporting

Spearhead federal grant writing and serve as liaison for federal funding

Lead fundraising initiatives, including an annual appeal and 1-2 fundraising events

Partnership Management
Lead host site selection process, ensuring the annual creation of Fellow projects

Manage relationships with 38+ non-profit and school site partners annually

Provide training and technical assistance to host site supervisors

Oversee recruitment and selection of 40 Fellows

Oversee partnership with Northeastern College of Professional Studies and secure annual scholarship funding

Program Promotion
Serve as key contact for MPF locally and nationally

Create strategy and oversight for all program communications i.e. newsletters, website, social media

City & Community Engagement (CCE) Responsibilities
Serve as an integral member the CCE Director team and assist in achieving goals identified by City & Community Engagement

Support University events and initiatives

Assist in the general operations of CCE

Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant work experience in education, non-profit management, or national service fields

Demonstrated experience in program management and compliance, including the ability to support and oversee staff members

Strong internal drive and ability to manage and deliver on projects independently

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively

Entrepreneurial spirit, creative problem solver and comfort with ambiguity

Dynamic communicator with comfort communicating via phone, email, and presentations

Demonstrated experience designing and managing systems, including accounting and human resources

Strong passion for and commitment to MPF's mission of delivering resources to underserved youth and supporting the development of young professionals

Experience creating and maintaining partnerships with schools, non-profit organizations, funders, and government agencies

Demonstrated commitment to addressing race, class, gender, and other social justice barriers

Experience with federal grant writing and/or compliance preferred

Ideal candidate will have experience supporting and managing AmeriCorps members and partnerships

Bachelor's degree required
