Salary Range: $64,402 to $88,936 annually
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness, the Director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for providing crucial support for fulfilling the college's mission and priorities by securing external funds through successful grant proposals to federal and state agencies, foundations, corporations, and other organizations. The position is responsible for coordination of grant applications, including evaluating potential funding opportunities, working collaboratively to develop competitive projects that address college needs, writing proposals, and coordinating post-award support to ensure successful implementation of funded grants. In additional to grant development and management, this position provides key institutional leadership of strategic college initiatives supported by external funding sources and assists the Office of Institutional Effectiveness in the leadership of specific grant-funded initiatives that achieve target outcomes and institutional strategic plan and objectives

What you will be working on:
- You will conduct research related to needs assessment and background information for proposal development, as well as programmatic research required for writing comprehensive grant proposals in order to secure grant funding.
- You will analyze funding organization requirements and anticipate the college's competitive position for each opportunity.
- You will provide leadership to plan/coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals and preparation of budgets including identifying standard line-item costs where applicable for staffing, space, and material.
- You will ensure grant proposal budgets adhere to all applicable campus, district, and state policies and requirements; assume fiscal management responsibilities as assigned
- You will provide technical assistance to deans, directors, managers, and faculty in planning, writing, program design, budget development, and evaluation.
- You will manage the reporting of award funds; develop and implement fiscal policies and procedures that adhere to all applicable campus, district, and state policies and requirements
- You will coordinate and oversee grant implementation including instruction on internal procedures and funding agency compliance, assistance with all issues of financial, personnel, payroll, purchasing, and administration of funded awards.
- You will work with administrators, staff and faculty to identify and resolve budget and compliance issues.
- You will serve as liaison with funding source program and contract officers, resource developers nationally, and with community organizations.
- You may support/coordinate grant managers or project directors as needed
- You will create and maintain systems for dissemination of information about external funding opportunities and other grants-related information.
- You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with college faculty, staff, administrators, and community organizations, public and private agencies, and other professionals associated with the development and operation of grants and contracts.
- You will provide regular periodic updates on grant-funded projects to the appropriate committees, councils, boards and to the campus.
- You will research and identify viable external funding opportunities that match the college's mission, goals, and strategic priorities.
- You will support strategic planning processes, including assisting with evaluation scoring and external analysis.
- You will attend college meetings, seminars, and activities as assigned by the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness.
- You will work collaboratively across the district and lead (as directed) projects and initiatives in support of student success.
- You will work in collaboration with the District office on special grant projects and requests.
What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- You will have a bachelor's degree in English, education, public/educational administration, or related field.
- You will have three or more years of experience as the primary author of recent successful grant proposals for federal state, and /or private agencies, preferably in higher education.
- You will have the ability to work independently, manage coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision, and maintain high quality work products that meet critical deadlines.
- You will have experience coordinating staff and consultants.
- You will have the ability to prepare and manage budgets.
- You will have proficiency in research, interpretation, and analysis of data.
- You will be proficient and have knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Applications, databases, and online research software and tools.
- You will have the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 25 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs.
