Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Shuttle Bus Driver for the Parking and Transportation Services Department. ***This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. The position will be responsible for operating a shuttle bus on assigned routes to transporting students and staff. Other duties include, but are not limited to: assisting disabled riders by utilizing lifts and securement devices; keeping the shuttle bus clean and fueled; creating a position public image for Parking and Transportation services department; identifying repairs as needed; and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
One year of experience driving vehicles that require a commercial driver's license.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

This position requires a valid Nevada Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's license and Passenger Endorsement.

Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with knowledge and skills of wheel chair lifting, securement devices and snow chain installation are encouraged to apply

Schedule
The typical schedule varies, working 30-40 hours per week to include evenings, during the spring and fall semesters. The Shuttle Bus Driver will not work during the spring, summer, and winter breaks; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
