Job Description

The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for the position of Graphic Designer and Communications Professional. The Graphic Designer and Communications Professional conceptualizes, plans, models, and designs print and electronic media within established university branding standards. The position also serves in an account executive role, meeting with clients to assess communications needs, discuss options, and provide advice about possible solutions. Additionally, it is this individual's role to research and develop design solutions for digital communications projects; to understand and convey in print, digital, visual, and electronic media the mission, values, and projects of the College of Liberal Arts and its constituent units; and to mentor student interns as needed. Until such time as the college is able to hire a Communications Director, this individual will report to the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts with a secondary reporting line to the Director of the School of the Arts, where the needs for design work are extensive.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years of related work experience, OR Master's Degree and one year of related work experience.

Related experience: Graphic design, fine arts, multimedia production or a similar field of study in the creative arts

Schedule or Travel Requirements

Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Occasional evenings and weekends

Travel to conferences and other travel as relates to position

Total Compensation

The total compensation package includes a negotiable competitive salary, moving allowance (if applicable), a rich retirement plan, health insurance options that include dental and vision, life insurance, long-term disability, thirty (30) days of sick leave provided upon start date and two (2) days of sick leave accrued per full month after the first year of service, two (2) days of annual leave accrued each full month, along with many other benefits.
