Position Summary:
Full-time, Tenure-Track Teaching Position in the Health Care Management program in the Department of Health Professions at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This position entails working closely with the Department Chair and colleagues in the Health Care Management program. The successful candidate will advise, as well as develop, teach, and maintain online, hybrid, and traditional graduate and undergraduate course offerings in multiple areas in the graduate and undergraduate health care curricula, including:
o Health Research Methods;
o Principles of Healthcare Management;
o Human Resources Management in Healthcare;
o Strategic Management in Healthcare
o Health Care Finance;
o Health Economics;
o Health Information Systems; and
o Health Disparities.
for a total of 12 credit hours per semester in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Additional teaching in the Summer semester may be available at the candidate's option and Department/program need.
The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Teaching
o Instruct undergraduate courses, leveraging field experiences in
o Health Research Methods;
o Principles of Healthcare Management;
o Human Resources Management in Healthcare;
o Strategic Management in Healthcare
o Health Care Finance;
o Health Economics;
o Health Information Systems; and
o Health Disparities.
o Advising undergraduate and graduate students in course planning and career strategies in the health care management field.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with historically underrepresented students, including students of color, and be committed to assisting the University, at the Department level, in its endeavor to become a Hispanic Serving Institution.

Required Qualifications:
Terminal Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Services, Health Sciences, Health Policy, Health Systems or related field. ABD may be accepted if degree conferred by August 1, 2019.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Minimum of two (2) years prior experience teaching undergraduate students in healthcare management and public health;
2) Prior experience instructing culturally diverse student populations in health care management;
3) Prior experience developing and teaching courses using the Blackboard Learn learning management system;
4) Prior industry experience working in community health program assessment.
