We are searching for an experienced Part time Faculty, CNA at our Santa Maria Campus facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Certified Nursing Assistant/Acute Care Aid Instructor

Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for part-time instructors to teach in the CNA program. Classes will be taught at the Santa Maria Campus and the Lompoc Valley Center.

The instructor will evaluate and advise students; plan and organize instructional materials toward course objectives; participate in program review and curriculum development; maintain class and examination schedules as well as grade and attendance records according to college regulations; and perform related tasks as required.

Special Qualification: A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse

    OR Associate's degree and six years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse OR the equivalent AND one year full-time experience in long-term care AND teaching credential or Director of Staff Development Certificate

    OR

    the equivalent per Board Policy 7211.

  • Current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in California

  • Demonstrated currency in the instruction of certified nursing assistants

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and present lecture and lesson materials and concepts and to assess student achievement

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communication and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others SALARY:

  • Lecture Rate: $46.98 to $71.93 per hour depending upon education and experience

  • Lab Rate: $40.91 to $62.63 per hour depending upon education and experience

  • Activity Rate: $30.23 to $47.18 per hour depending upon education and experience
