Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Tutoring Center at Everett Community College is seeking a culturally competent, student centered individual to join our dynamic tutoring team.

The Tutoring Center has a goal of creating and maintaining a diverse team of educators skilled in offering students richly varied perspectives and methods of knowing and learning. This position works 12 months per year, 40 hours per week.

Typical Duties:
  • Tutor students in Transitional Studies math courses
  • Collect, analyze and review student data with the Director of the Tutoring Center to assist with program reviews and policy changes.
  • Create reports and maintain filing systems
  • May supervise and train student and part-time hourly employees
  • Lead tutor training
  • Prepare and deliver public presentations to promote division and department programs
  • Provide Transitional Studies front office support as needed
  • Coordinate quarterly Transitional Studies post testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team in achieving its service objective.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    1.Demonstrated passion for and commitment to serving students across a diverse spectrum of backgrounds.
    2.Excellent customer service skills.
    3.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    4.Excellent organizational skills.
    5.Work experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Multicultural experience.
    2. Two or more years experience working with students in a higher education setting.
    3. CASAS testing certification.
    4. Experience with AccuSQL software.

    Work Hours: The Tutoring Center is open Monday Thursday 8:00am 7:00pm, Friday 8:00am 3:00pm and Saturday 10:00am 2:00pm. Work hours will be determined within the hours the Tutoring Center is open, based on program needs.
