Mid Point Salary Range: $57,987

Position Type: Exempt Staff

Position Summary:
This Program Coordinator will work with and advise COM students. Working in the COM Foundation with the Scholarship Specialist, the Coordinator will award fund for college tuition, fees, books and required equipment to get these students back on their feet on the road to recovery. We hope to recruit and serve approximately 75 to 100 students.

Note: This is a grant-funded position and subject to grant availability. This is an 18-month, full-time position.

Job Duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

utilize local resources to provide outreach and recruit potential students who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey;

make contract with students and assist with Financial Aid paperwork and the scholarship application;

coordinate and create criteria for program eligibility determination;

create and maintain records/files of client information for reporting, tracking and audit compliance;

complete all reporting as required by the Department of Education;

work with Grants Compliance Officer and Grants Accountant to ensure compliance and budget monitoring;

completes other duties as assigned by Executive Director of COM Foundation and Resource Development.



Minimum Education/Training/Experience:
Associates Degree or higher and a minimum of three (3) years experience in advising or customer service.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:
Experience in working with students of higher education preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

ability to establish cooperative working relationships in the course of performing assigned duties

ability to exercise humor, teamwork and fidelity, and high ethical standards in all aspects of work

highly proficient in MS Word and Excel
