JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Student Outreach & CTE Transitions, the Dual Enrollment Coordinator will oversee work with high school district while working closely with College academic and student affairs personnel to provide comprehensive programing that affords the district high school students the opportunity to earn college credit and prepare for a career while still in high school.

In particular, this position will coordinate dual enrollment programming between Foothill College and Sequoia Union High School District. The Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the dual enrollment program including: overseeing the college-wide dialogue on the enhancement, development and implementation of CTE and general education course offerings; liaising between the college and participating high schools, to help integrate CTE programs and individual classes while promoting student exposure to course offerings and career pathway programs.

In addition to the Examples of Duties and Responsibilities listed below, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
  1. Coordinate with high school and community college administration and faculty to implement work plan activities (i.e. -articulation agreements, dual enrollment procedures, etc.)
  2. Work with Student Services & Marketing to organize outreach events in the community and on the high school campuses to recruit students
  3. Assist with Orientation, Open House and Registration events
  4. Provide services and motivational sessions to ensure students succeed and meet their educational goals
  5. Oversee the college-wide dialogue on the enhancement, development and implementation of K-12 CTE academic partnerships and course offerings
  6. Liaise between the college and the district high schools, to help integrate CTE programs and individual classes while promoting student exposure to course offerings and career pathway programs
  7. Monitor the qualifications of Foothill high school instructors to ensure they meet CA Community College Faculty minimum qualifications and coordinate the process of completing faculty evaluations
  8. Coordinate and ensure MOU agreements with the district and high schools are up to date and in place and Board approved
  9. Create and update promotional materials for distribution to high schools, students, parents; and keep the Foothill dual enrollment website up to date
  10. Create a dual enrollment toolkit of how to lists/links/resources for Foothill instructors, high school teachers, Foothill administrators and high school administrators of their roles in the process of setting up and fulfilling the requirements and protocols of dual enrollment courses
  11. Work with high school teachers to monitor high school student grades and Withdraw anyone in danger of failing prior to the college withdraw date

DEFINITION:

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide overall direction and guidance to the day-to-day operations, problem solving and decision making regarding an assigned program; implement program policies and guidelines; provide for program reporting and accountability; provide work direction and guidance to other program personnel; monitor program budgets.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Depending upon assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Provide overall direction and guidance to the day-to-day operations, problem solving and decision-making regarding an assigned program; implement program policies and directives according to District, federal or State guidelines.
  2. Provide work direction and guidance to others assigned to the program; assign work to other classified personnel, students, volunteers and others; provide input to performance evaluations.
  3. Develop, recommend and implement program plans and objectives; coordinate delivery of services to program participants; assure participation guidelines are followed.
  4. Assure program expenditures are within allocated budgets; monitor budgets; propose budget changes and participate in project budget applications as necessary.
  5. Establish appropriate linkages to special populations or community groups served; promote program through participation in advocacy groups, associations and other local, regional or national organizations.
  6. Provide regular reports to management and federal/State agencies as requested; participate on program reviews; assure program compliance with federal or State program guidelines.
  7. Serve as liaison between program personnel, participants, clients, administrators, faculty and students; provide information, program requirements and other pertinent information.
  8. Develop, coordinate, promote and oversee a broad range of programs.
  9. Develop workshop materials, promotional materials and other program documentation.
  10. Operate a computer and other office equipment as assigned.
  11. Design, develop and present workshops for students and with varied learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
  12. Assist in curriculum planning and development; provide input to faculty and staff regarding program offerings.
  13. Serve as program administrator in the absence of program supervisors.
  14. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
  2. Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field AND two (2) years related work experience.
