Program Director & Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor, Charlotte

About the Opportunity:
The School of Nursing invites applications from highly-motivated candidates for a full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track faculty position as an Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor and Program Director in the School of Nursing at our Charlotte, North Carolina campus, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications. This position is a 52-week faculty appointment with an immediate start date.

Responsibilities:
The incumbent will play a leadership role in setting the direction of the program, ensuring highest quality clinical experiences for nursing students, maintaining a vibrant faculty, and continuously developing innovative programming. The Program Director will direct all administrative aspects of the program, including faculty assignments, supervision, and evaluation; student admissions, recruitment, and retention activities; students' career development and mentoring; and program evaluation. The Program Director will develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and alumni in order to address student and faculty queries and concerns and evaluate the program.

The Program Director will work to meet all accreditation standards established by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and program requirements established by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include the development, delivery, and evaluation of didactic and/or clinical courses in the nursing program, as assigned. This may include assisting with capstone projects, contributing to teaching and mentoring of students, and/or being responsible for senior practicum. The Program Director will supervise staff in the coordination of student and enrollment information with the School of Nursing Academic Programs Office, Bouve Office of Student Services, and University Registrar's Office. The Program Director will also engage in scholarship, including scholarship of teaching and learning, and professional activities that meet continuous professional development goals.

Faculty members working in Charlotte are expected to attend faculty meetings and participate in committees in the School of Nursing via teleconferencing.

Qualifications:
Qualifications require a degree in nursing and earned doctorate in nursing or related field; preferably in nursing practice; significant clinical experience (3-5 years minimum) in the relevant practice area, appropriate advanced practice credentials; an excellent record of college teaching; and understanding of Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and multiple hospital-based health care systems. A minimum of 3 years of supervisory, administrative and/or budgetary experience is required. Experience in academic administration is preferred. Evidence of meeting requirements established by the North Carolina Board of Nursing regarding qualifications as a Nursing Educator or plan to meet these requirements is required.
