The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Staff Research Associate 1 within the P.L. Jones laboratory at the Department of Pharmacology. ***This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. The Staff Research Associate 1 will provide technical support for the Jones lab's muscular dystrophy research program for identifying pathogenic mechanisms, therapeutic targets, and designing preclinical models for testing. Duties include: conduct experiments related to muscular dystrophy research; analyze and organize data for presentation in publications; help supervise undergrad researchers, answer questions, aid with techniques; manage lab supplies and assess inventory; and other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the required area of specialization; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
