Position Summary:
The Department of Nutrition at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is seeking applicants for a Supervised Practice Program Director/Nutrition Tenure Track Faculty member starting July 2019. The candidate will be an integral member of the Nutrition Department faculty and will be required to follow those responsibilities outlined in the MSU Denver Handbook for Professional Personnel.
The Program Director responsibilities will encompass 50% of the job and will entail monitoring and guiding 12 interns in supervised practice activities approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
The teaching portion (50%) of this position will involve teaching 12 credits hours/academic year in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Nutrition.
The University is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Duties/Responsibilities:
The duties/responsibilities of this position are split: 50% Program Director and 50% Teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
The successful candidate is expected to implement and oversee the dietetic supervised practice program with emphasis in 1) recruiting and coordinating preceptors and supervised practice sites, 2) recruiting, selecting, and enrolling interns, 3) designing, directing and evaluating activities related to the intern experiences, 4) collecting, maintaining and tracking data, 5) preparing documents for accreditation, 6) coordinating and teaching a 1-week orientation seminar in conjunction with the Clinical Instructor, 7) issuing verification statements, 8) mentoring and advising interns, 9) supervising and collaborating with the Clinical Instructor in delivery of the clinical portion of the supervised practice and bi-weekly seminars with interns, and 10) managing the program budget. The Program Director is responsible for assuring that all Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) standards, policies and procedures will be met.
As a faculty member in the Department of Nutrition, this position will teach 12 credit hours per academic year in the undergraduate and graduate nutrition programs in face-to-face, online or hybrid formats. Service to the university and scholarly activity are also required.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.

Required Qualifications:
ABD in Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, Food Science/Technology, Public Health Nutrition or other Nutrition-related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentials
Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
3 years of dietetic work experience since becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
Successful teaching experience at the college level in face-to-face, online and/or hybrid formats.
Previous experience as a program director of an ACEND-accredited program.
2 years experience or ability in recruiting, selecting and coordinating interns, preceptors, and supervised practice sites.
2 years experience in conducting program evaluation.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Project management experience.
2 years experience in community engagement/outreach experience.
