Applications are invited to fill a professional research assistant position to assist in multi-disciplinary translational project in regenerative medicine. This team project is led by Prof. Stephanie J. Bryant in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, the Materials Science and Engineering Program, and the BioFrontiers Institute.

Who We Are
The Biomaterials and Functional Tissue Engineering laboratory led by Prof. Bryant develops novel biomimetic and biodegradable materials for regenerative medicine with the goal of translating these technologies into humans. A large focus of this lab is on musculoskeletal tissues (e.g., cartilage and bone) with an emphasis on the role of mechanobiology of stem cells and the immune system in regeneration.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Perform duties as a histotechnologist under the supervision of the principle investigator.
- The specific duties include performing histological processing of samples for the project (including embedding, sectioning, staining to include histology and immunohistochemistry, and imaging), assisting with the analysis, and troubleshooting and/or developing new or improved protocols for histological processing for complex samples.
- Participate in project meetings.
- Assist with writing monthly research reports.
- Work collaboratively with team members across multiple campuses.
What We Can Offer
The annual salary range for this position is $45,000 - $80,000, prorated for 50% FTE appointment.

What We Require
- Applicants should have at a minimum a Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Research experience in a laboratory at a University or in Industry.
- Experience in histology/immunohistochemistry processing.
- Due to the need to fill this position immediately, applicants should be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
