Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; occasional early mornings, weekends and evenings.

Job Summary:
California State University Fullerton is searching for an Accounting Technician III with a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity and kindness.

The Accounting Technician III assists the campus community regarding parking permit and special event requests. Reviews, approves/denies, issues permits and invoices for guest parking permits, special permits, contractor/vendor and all other permit types. Performs sales transactions including parking permit sales and issuance, pro-rations and refunds, and daily deposits. Manages faculty/staff payroll deduction records and reconciliation process against State Controller and campus records. Coordinates and completes the annual permit order. Setup number series control groups and fee schedule in the parking management database (T2 Systems, Flex). Prepares financial statements, reconciliation and statistical reports regarding permit sales and issuance. Resolves difficult and unusual problems, researches and resolves discrepancies. Provides lead oversight to front counter operations; provides training to front line cashiers (AccountingTechnician I's), researches balancing discrepancies, and responds to customer service inquiries and complaints regarding parking permit policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities, OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge. Thorough knowledge of governmental financial record-keeping methods. Ability to interpret a wide variety of written rules and regulations; maintain accounting records for funds, programs, or activities involving multiple transactions; compile, verify, and reconcile financial data; prepare trial balances, financial statements, and reports; investigate and resolve errors and discrepancies. Knowledge of cash handling, inventory control, accounting and financial record keeping practices and procedures. Experience working with calculator, adding machine, FAX, personal computer. Experience working with Microsoft Office and automated sales and accounting systems.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
