Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor/MEPN Simulation Coordinator

Department Description:

USD's Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science offers graduate Nurse Practitioner and pre-licensure registered nurse (RN) Master's, DNP, and PhD programs and is nationally ranked in the top 5 % of Graduate Programs in Nursing.

Detailed Description:

Coordinate all simulations in the MEPN program:
Complying with the objectives and goals of the MEPN Program courses, the MEPN
Program Coordinator meets with each theory instructor to discuss and create simulation
as part of their class or clinical experience; researches and writes the case scenarios for
each simulation.; trains the standardized patients for their roles in the cases; creates the
check list with faculty input; sets up the rooms and the props for the case; and provides
instructions to the students and facilitators about the case as needed. Prior to the event,
the MEPN Coordinator meets with the facilitators and discusses roles and
responsibilities, along with case post simulation event debriefing strategy.
The MEPN Program Simulation Coordinator also provides simulation remediation for students having difficulty with some aspects in their hospital clinical setting. In addition, the MEPN Coordinator provides a link for consistency through coordination, integration, and oversight between all MEPN lab and simulation events.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD or DNP degree from an accredited school of nursing program
RN
2 years of acute care hospital experience

Knowledge and experience in the use of simulation in a pre-licensure graduate nursing program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
5+ years of acute care hospital experience

Background check: Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
