Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapy Department at New York Institute of Technology is seeking adjunct professors to teach a number of courses in the Fall 2018 semester and Spring 2019. Courses include topics of Motor Learning, clinical and professional topics in occupational therapy, Interventions in Physical Conditions in Adults, and OT Interventions for Psychosocial Disorders and Group Process. Applicants can apply for any or all eligible courses. The department will work with the adjunct in providing the course syllabus and material.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach lecture and lab components on the specified dates and times (below)
  • Administer and grade exams assignments and homework
  • Provide feedback as needed
  • Communicate with the students via email, blackboard, and/or in person outside the classroom times to address course inquires, questions, and concerns
  • Communicate with the New York Institute of Technology primary/designated faculty member
  • Any others necessary activities needed to complete the course (if any)


Qualifications
The applicants have to be a certified and licensed occupational therapist in NY with clinical experience in the course area and have to have at least a MS degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Academic teaching experience is preferred. Applicants have to be available to teach on the scheduled courses times in both semesters.

Specific Course Needs:

  • Topic in Occupational Therapy (2 sections): 4-8 credits: Wednesdays and Fridays 8:00am -1:10 pm. Course duration: 9/5/2018-12/22/2018
  • Motor Learning (2 sections)- 2 credit hours: Wednesdays and Fridays 2:20pm-4:20 pm. Course duration: 9/5/2018-12/22/2018.
  • OT interventions in Physical Conditions Mondays 11:00am -2:00pm & 3:30-5:30. and Thursdays 9:30-11:30
  • OT interventions in Psychosocial Disorders and Group Process: Mondays 10:30am-12:30pm & 2:30pm-5:30pm; Wednesdays: 9:30am-12:00pm & 12:30pm-2:30pm.
