Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 1 at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. The major duties of this general office position include tasks such as answering the phone; preparing and distributing mail and packages; ordering and maintaining supplies; maintaining financial records and files; preparing and processing purchasing card statements, initiating accounting adjustments and supplier invoice requests, assist in processing spend authorization for travel and expense reports, coordinating the use of department truck to include scheduling maintenance, completing billing paperwork, and maintaining secure and accurate records; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is a highly research active department with over 530 BS, MS, and PhD students, 22 academic faculty, and 4 research faculty and 6 staff.
