Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a part time Administrative Assistant 2 for the Latino Research Center (LRC). The position involves performing a series of fiscal and HR-related tasks. Other duties include, but are not limited to: coordinating the center's travel; operating the front desk of the LRC and performing reception task such as answering the phone, answering questions, and greeting visitors; working with the LRC Coordinator and the Director; maintaining records and files; compiling various reports and statistics for the center; coordinating committees, meetings, and draft minutes; assisting with the onboarding and pay admin entries for student workers; assist with subscriptions to the center's journal Border-lines; communicating with authors of the LRC's journal; ordering office supplies; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires that the candidate be bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and oral.

Schedule
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from varying times; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

The Latino Research Center serves as a nexus between the Latinx communities in Northern Nevada and US Latinx communities more generally in order to foster research, student achievement, faculty collaboration, advocacy, and outreach in a manner that best meets the educational, intellectual, and cultural needs and goals of both the university and the State of Nevada.
