Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Cybersecurity Center/Online Cybersecurity MS Program. This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position will provide administrative clerical support to the Center's Director and faculty. Standard duties include, but are not limited to: financial management tasks such as monitoring and maintaining center's budgets, verifying procurement card transactions, processing center's requisitions, initiating budget amendments, journals, and payroll accounting adjustments as needed; human resource management tasks such as initiating all employment type hires and terminations, creating period activity pays, and serving as timekeeper for centers hourly employees; academic support tasks such as entering course schedules in MyNevada, assisting students with basic centers and University information, and assist in coordinating and planning special events; and other duties as assigned. This position is the sole administrative position for the Cybersecurity Center/Online Cybersecurity MS Program in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and reports directly to the Centers director.

Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualification
Candidates with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel are encouraged to apply.

Schedule
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Department Information
The Cybersecurity Center/Online Cybersecurity MS Program, in the Computer Science and Engineering Department is a vibrant, growing place to work and excel. The Cybersecurity Center will provide educational and research opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students that will prepare them to pursue careers in cybersecurity and related fields. In the last five years, the College of Engineering has witnessed an unprecedented growth in student enrollment and number of faculty positions. The college is positioned to further enhance its growth of its students, faculty, staff, and facilities, as well as its research productivity and its graduate and undergraduate programs. Thanks to substantial growth in both student enrollment and tenure-track faculty positions, the College of Engineering is constructing a new engineering building, scheduled to open in 2020.
