THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE
FACULTY POSITION IN KINESIOLOGY
POSITION: Assistant Professor of Practice (Kinesiology). This is a nine-month non-tenure-track position in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies beginning January 1, 2019. This faculty member will be hired to support the growing Kinesiology undergraduate program. The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport Studies is housed in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. The department offers BS and MS degrees in Kinesiology and a PhD degree in Kinesiology and Sport Studies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Earned doctorate in a kinesiology discipline
- Evidence of successful university teaching in undergraduate courses. The department has needs in exercise physiology, fitness testing/exercise prescription, applied anatomy, and other required and elective courses in the Kinesiology major.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills

- Familiarity with laboratory instruction and procedures
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated commitment to professional organizations
- Record of scholarship in kinesiology
- Experience with instructional technology
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach undergraduate courses in kinesiology
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students
- Provide professional and institutional service
SALARY: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
