ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY
10-MONTH, TENURE TRACK POSITION
Southwestern College

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Dean, the School of Arts, Communication and Social Sciences is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Psychology, who will work under the direction of the Dean. The Assistant Professor will be involved with curriculum development, leadership in promoting interdisciplinary programs and projects, furthering the use of instructional technology within discipline, and initiation of grant projects when relevant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's in Psychology OR Bachelor's in Psychology AND Master's in Counseling, Sociology, Statistics, Neuroscience or Social Work OR the equivalent OR a valid California Community College Instructor Credential in Psychology.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to teach across the discipline with an emphasis in Research Methods (PSYC 255) and Data Analysis in Psychology (PSYC 270 and 271). Desire to provide leadership integrating the AD-T research core into the psychology program and to work with the Psi Beta Honors Society to provide students the opportunity to present research at national conferences. Ability to contribute to other shared governance duties within the department and at the college. Demonstrated ability to work with students from historically underrepresented populations and a strong commitment to student equity.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
Upon initial employment, full-time faculty members are placed on the salary schedule based upon years of experience and education. The maximum initial placement for experience is Step 6. Faculty members are encouraged to continue their professional development through additional study qualifying them for advancement on the salary schedule.
