Position Summary
The founding Dental Assisting program coordinator is a dental assistant or dental hygienist who is Dental Assisting National Board "Certified Dental Assistant". The founding coordinator demonstrates an understanding of education and contemporary dental practice appropriate for dental assisting education. The program coordinator will provide effective leadership for the program, including but not limited to: program and curriculum development, development of program policies and procedures, communication with internal and external stakeholders, program assessment and planning, fiscal management, faculty recruitment, evaluation and mentoring, accreditation compliance and student recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Must be a Dental Assisting National Board "Certified Dental Assistant" with occupational experience in the application of fourhanded dentistry principles, either as a dental assistant or working with a chairside assistant OR dental hygienist with Dental Assisting National Board "Certified Dental Assistant" may be eligible if they have occupational experience in the application of clinical chairside dental assisting involving fourhanded dentistry.
2. Must have a baccalaureate degree or higher.
3. Exceptional organization and time management skills.
4. Proficient with computer use.
5. Experience in administration/management.
6. Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment.
7. Interpersonal and conflict management skills.
8. Abilities to facilitate change.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in long term and short term program planning.
2. Experience at the community college level.
3. Experience with traditional and non-traditional students.
