The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) College of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Computer Engineering, with preferred beginning date of August 1, 2020.

Qualifications
A successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Individuals who are "all but dissertation" (ABD) will be considered; however, the degree must be awarded within twelve months of the first semester of employment;
  • Ability and experience to teach computer engineering courses;
  • A strong interest in working with graduate and undergraduate students;
  • Ability to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction;
  • Ability and experience to actively seek external research funding and publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences appropriate to the field;
  • Ability and willingness to participate in professional service and community engagement activities;
  • Ability to assist in the accomplishment of University, College, and departmental goals and strategic plans.

    The Department of Computer Science and Engineering currently offers degrees at the BS, MS and PhD levels in Computer Science, as well as a joint MS degree program (with the Rollins College of Business) in Data Analytics. In the fall of 2018, the department launched a program leading to the BSCpE degree in Computer Engineering; this program is currently in the process of review for accreditation by ABET EAC. The successful applicant will be expected to teach and conduct research in the area of computer engineering in support of the new BSCpE program and other academic programs.
