Position Information:
The Department of Public Health and Health Services Administration seeks candidates whose teaching, research, and service has prepared them to contribute to our campus commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.

The Department of Public Health and Health Services Administration is searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to start August 18, 2020.
California State University, Chico seeks faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success.



Minimum Education and Experience:
The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a terminal degree in Public Health or related area such as Health Education. Candidates nearing completion of the terminal degree ma be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the degree must be met no later than August 17, 2020. Candidates must have the skills and ability to teach service learning based courses. The successful candidate should provide evidence of their commitment to or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds.


Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for this position:
This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching Health Promotion Techniques and/or Planning Public Health Programs. This tenure-track position also carries the responsibility of teaching at least two of the following undergraduate courses based on their areas of expertise: Introduction to Public Health Practice and Research; International Health; Environmental Health; Womens Health; Research & Evaluation in Health; Health in the Later Years; and/or Social Gerontology. Additional responsibilities include scholarship and service to the department, university, and community. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.


Recruitment Preferences:
CHES (Certified Health Education Specialists) certification or MCHES (Master Certified Health Education Specialist) certification. Preference will also be given to candidates who can demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching with experience and interest in interactive instructional technologies.
