Associate Director of Human Resources


St. Thomas Aquinas College invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Human Resources. This is a dynamic role that leads a Human Resources team responsible for all day-to-day Human Resources functions of benefit administration, payroll processing, and compliance. In addition, this role will have a strong emphasis on employee relations and supporting a high-performance culture, recruitment, and retention of talent and policy administration.


Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Recruitment - attract and retain talent. Supporting employees throughout their employment with the college.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Assess developmental needs and develop and implement training that would include but not limited to; supervisory skills, interviewing, and communication skills.
Manage the Annual Performance Review. Ensure well written goals, development plans, and timely completion of reviews that would add value and support employee growth and learning through continuous feedback.
Supervise and oversee the work of the Human Resources Team which includes, Assistant Director and Human Resources Specialist.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs collaboratively with Assistant Director to include but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave administration, and payroll processing.
Provide analytical reports to the Director to guide data-based decisions.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Recommends process improvements and innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
Minimum of five years of experience working in a Human Resource environment that is responsible for benefit administration, recruitment, employee relations, performance evaluation, employee training, and HRIS systems.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and preferably UKG/Ultipro HR software package.
