Job Description
The Associate Director of Sports Medicine/Head Football Athletic Trainer is responsible for performing duties of first aid, prevention, care, rehabilitation and referral (if necessary) of athletic injuries and illnesses sustained by the Men's and Women's Division I athletes at the University of Nevada, Reno. In addition, the Head Football Trainer serves as the liaison with the Head football Coach and staff to oversee the football student-athletes health care and performs first aid, prevention care, rehabilitation and referral (if necessary) of athletic injuries and illness sustained by Division I football athletes. The position assists with overseeing Sports Medicine staff as well as graduate and undergraduate assistants. The position reports to the Assistant AD, Sports Medicine.

Required Qualifications
Master's Degree and one year OR a Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience. Related Experience: managing or assisting with management of athletic training facilities at the collegiate or professional level working with men's or women's sports programs.

License or certificate required for this position.
  • Certification by National Athletic Trainers' Association as administered by the NATA Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Maintain continuing education units as required by the NATABOC
  • Must be licensed in the State of Nevada
