Culinary Arts/Food Science & Nutrition Instructors
Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for a pool of part-time instructors to teach courses in the Food Science and Nutrition program for the spring semester. Current openings include FSN 120- Principles of Food 1, on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 3:05 p.m. and FSN 134 - Food, Nutrition, & Culture (Lab only), on Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. - 12:35 p.m. Classes are held at the Santa Maria Valley Campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics and food administration
OR
Bachelor's in any of the above
AND
Master's in chemistry, public health, or family and consumer studies/home economics
OR
the equivalent per board policy 7211.

NOTE: A Bachelor's in nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics and food administration, and certification as a Registered Dietitian, is an alternative qualification for this discipline.

Special Qualification: Evidence of a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.

Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged by the district as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for this position. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications are encouraged to complete the equivalency form and provide appropriate documentation of their qualifications.

SALARY:
Lecture Rate: $46.15 to $70.67 per hour depending upon education and experience
Lab Rate: $40.19 to $61.53 per hour depending upon education and experience
Activity Rate: $29.70 to $46.35 per hour depending upon education and experience
