Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Custodial Worker 2 for the Facilities Maintenance Services Department. The position will act as a crew lead which coordinates work and assignments in consultation with the supervisor. Other duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning walls, carpets, floors, vents, and surfaces; training new and temporary employees; providing oversight for the student workers program; inspecting buildings for cleanliness and repairs; operating equipment and using chemicals; assisting in resolving workplace conflict; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

A valid Class C Nevada driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

This position requires working with and around hazardous building materials and solvents; frequently lifting; frequent use of ladders; and exposure to hot and cold temperatures when working outside.

Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Facilities Maintenance Services (FMS) is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the physical resources and environments of the University of Nevada, Reno and campus buildings. FMS provides guidance and understanding in the areas of building maintenance, moving furniture, housekeeping and grounds landscaping.
