The UIC College of Pharmacy seeks a seasoned marketing or media professional with expertise in digital and social media platforms. The candidate will be responsible for strategies to lead the marketing strategy for the College and grow brand awareness to enhance the College's reputation.

The Director will lead content and marketing, oversee all communications functions for the College and develop and execute long and short-term marketing strategies focused on maintaining /exceeding our national and international brand and image. Serving as the lead content and digital marketing director, the candidate will oversee the entire communications and marketing function for the College by leading a team of internal staff and external freelance and contractual writers, designers, photographers, and other related vendors. The candidate will identify digital trends, insights, and earned media to leverage trends and resources to optimize advertising efforts, spending and performance. The Director will convey and advance the College's brand, image and mission by working with various College leaders to create and oversee marketing campaigns and materials which create awareness of the College's academic, research and service programs targeted to alumni, donors, friends and partners of the College. In addition, the Director will be responsible for qualitative / quantitative analytics using analytical tools and critical performance indicators to measure and refine the performance of integrated marketing tools across all channels and regularly provide monthly, and ad hoc reports to leadership.

Requirements for the position include: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Organizational Communication, Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, or related discipline is preferred. Also required is a minimum of three years of experience in interactive marketing or relevant experience. Five (5) years of demonstrated success as a branding or marketing professional preferred. The ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and exhibit a strong portfolio that demonstrates an attention to detail and clear, concise, and compelling writing is required. Experience in marketing analytics, management consulting, and equivalent analytical and project management experience is required with a documented/ proven track record of developing successful digital communication solutions and demonstrating a robust and collaborative approach to projects in a team-based environment. Marketing or Communications experience in higher education preferred and experience using Slate a plus.
