Instruction & Classroom Support Tech 1 - East County Campus

Job Summary/Basic Function:
  • Assists instructors in classroom work and students with self-help needs.
  • Manages computer labs and laptops. Assists and tutors students in lab
    assignments. May teach laboratory portion of some classes.
  • Works with the IT department on main campus to keep computers up to date and performs regular computer maintenance.
  • Administers standardized tests to students via the Pearson VUE portal and other testing platforms
  • Prepares materials for use in classrooms and computer labs; sets up assignments, equipment or demonstrations; works with instructor to develop assignments; assists instructors and students with learning management software such as CANVAS
  • Modifies equipment, materials and programs as required for individual instructors; assists students and instructors in selecting correct tools and materials
  • Estimates, orders and receives classroom supplies and equipment. Catalogs supplies and equipment for easy acquisition
  • Assists with marketing for the East County Campus which includes web pages, media boards, social media feeds, Daily Digest, Student 411 and other feeds such as CANVAS in collaboration with the East County Director to distribute campus information to students, community, and EvCC campus staff and faculty.
  • Maintains student files; reviews daily work of students; conducts individual student conferences as necessary.
  • Uses Tableau and other data and survey retrieval systems and procedures to provide course, FTE, enrollment, other student services and instructional data
  • Attends and participates in training programs; may attend district and state-wide meetings
  • Assists new students with the technology aspects of registration and enrollment using the campus computer lab and off-site mobile computers
  • Supports outreach and community engagement
  • Supervises student assistants
  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Two years of college course work or an Associate degree in Business Technology or a related field, plus six months teaching experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    Proficiency in the latest versions of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher)
    Proficiency in QuickBooks, College Keyboarding, CANVAS LMS, Windows 10, Digital Signage software, and basic laptop and desktop use
    Ability to learn and use newly implemented software and hardware
    Certified Proctor for Certiport, CASAS, Accuplacer, ACT Work Keys, Pearson VUE Administration Certification, and/or other testing services or ability to obtain all required certifications

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Ability to communicate in a language, other than English, with current and prospective students and community members.

    Physical Demands:

    Work Hours: 40 hours per week, 11 months per year. Schedule is typically 8 am 5 pm, Monday-Friday. Work hours will vary depending on need. May work some late evenings and occasional weekends. Work location is EvCC East County Campus in Monroe.
