Position Summary:
As MSU Denver seeks to be the national leader in educating students for tomorrow's careers, the Faculty Engagement & Applied Learning team within the Classroom to Career (C2) Hub is forward-thinking and strategically develops and strengthens partnerships with faculty, deans, and administrators to prepare students for their career aspirations through experiential learning opportunities. With an ambitious goal of engaging 100% of students in robust career planning in the next three years, the University is committed to creating services that are scaled, highly evaluated, and focused on the specific needs and interests of MSU Denver students. To that end, successful team members think critically about MSU Denver student demographics and their respective career planning.

Academic partnerships and faculty involvement will allow MSU Denver to work toward 100% student career engagement by tapping into the leaders and avenues that engage most directly with our students. A tight-knit and intentional partnership with academic deans, program chairs, and faculty senate will enrich student career development by integrating career activities into the co-curricular and curricular student experience. Additionally, the Faculty Engagement and Applied Learning team will strengthen and deepen our existing partnerships with faculty with regard to experiential learning opportunities that are completed for credit including internships, service learning, cooperative education experiences, and other high impact practices.

The Director reports to the Associate Vice President of the C2 Hub and supervises professional staff. Additionally, the Director will lead strategic efforts to identify, strengthen, and maintain lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with campus and community partners. IND208


Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy (60%)
Engage faculty and academic affairs colleagues to ensure the Classroom to Career Hub is actively utilizing systems that measure and support learning objectives and outcomes related to experiential learning.
Lead strategy and vision for faculty partnerships including Faculty Fellows and Faculty Learning Community, ensuring efforts and initiatives are aligned to C2 program outcomes and academic affairs expectations.
Develop and implement effective strategies to create knowledge and understanding across campus about the value of experiential and work-based learning as a critical component of professional development.
Build partnerships with faculty, administrators, and staff to strengthen and support effective career education strategies across the University.
With academic partners including the provost, develop and launch activities aligned to academic and career success including but not limited to major maps and integrated academic/career pathways.
Advocate for the adoption of and assist in building quality internships into all appropriate majors/minors on campus.

Supervision/Management (20%)
Responsible for providing direct supervision to activities related to campus recruitment and faculty engagement and applied learning.
Manage performance of respective team members aligned to University success metrics.
Develop an inclusive workplace aligned to best practices for equitable career development and experiential learning outcomes.

Assessment and Reporting (20%)
Work with C2 Hub team to ensure assessment measures are integrated into full program offerings.
Lead efforts to assess and report data in aggregate and disaggregate formats.


Required Qualifications:
Masters Degree
Previous teaching experience in an institution of higher education or similar environment
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing cohesive teams
Experience advancing equity and inclusion strategies through leadership, advocacy, and/or management practices


Preferred Qualifications:
Terminal degree, highly preferred
Experience working with students, faculty, and administrators in higher education focused on leadership, service learning, and student success
Experience providing leadership to both professional staff and faculty
Demonstrated management/administrative skills (for policy, budget, supervisory, and program development and evaluation responsibilities)
Previous knowledge of higher education, student affairs philosophy, best practices, and/or the policies and procedures of a higher education institution
Knowledge of emerging trends and needs in the student population
Exceptional research, market, and data analysis
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
Experience assessing program effectiveness
Experience working within a Hispanic serving institution
