Lead Summer Camp Counselor – (2-FT/Seasonal)

Effective June 18, 2018: FT/Seasonal, Lead Summer Camp Counselor in Wilmington University's Summer Camp, New Castle site.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least (1) year of verifiable teaching experience is preferred. The work in this position is performed in a routine or standard Summer Camp environment. The position will require the candidate to exert an above average amount of physical effort including constant standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy materials or equipment. (15-50 lbs.). The candidate must have excellent leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. The ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Supervise, at all times, assigned group of campers between the ages of 5–6 years of age.
Lead and/or participate in daily camp activities including swimming, athletics, cultural arts, and field trips.
Create a fun and safe environment for all the campers.
Assist in program design and leadership daily at the discretion of the camp director.
Establish effective and supportive relationships with the other staff and work with them as required in carrying out any other duties as assigned by the camp director.
Inform the camp director of any perceived problem with any camper, staff and/or camp property.
Other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.

Hours of Employment: Seasonal - June 18th, 2018 to August 10th, 2018. Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (must be flexible with hours).

Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00
