Basic Function:
Serves as the administrative liaison to global programs (including Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Division (IGSD) and Office of Global Partnerships) to facilitate inter-unit collaborations in support of the Project-Based Learning curriculum and associated learning spaces. Provides library support for the Foisie Innovation Studio - including the innovation and entrepreneurship center and the global impact lab - which serves as a hub for WPI's project-based curriculum.
Leads the setting of goals and priorities for library instruction for undergraduate project-based learning, consistent with the library's goals, national standards, and best practices. Coordinates, in collaboration with other instruction librarians, assessment of the library's undergraduate instruction program in support of project-based learning. Provides high level coordination for the distribution of library efforts in support of undergraduate project-based learning, including librarians and staff across all library departments. In partnership with the Librarian, Faculty Development and Research Support Lead, supports faculty in implementing best practices and research in undergraduate project-based learning. Collaborates with the Librarian, Faculty Development and Research Support Lead, and the library's graduate programs support liaison, to coordinate undergraduate project support with MQP (Major Qualifying Project) research support services and with graduate student projects and research support.
As an instructor, partners with faculty and staff to support student learning by assisting in the development, implementation, delivery, and assessment of innovative, focused, and relevant library undergraduate instruction programs including IQP (Interactive Qualifying Project), GPS (Great Problems Seminars), and departmental-based classes. Incorporates appropriate technologies, skills, innovations, and collaborations as needed to provide increasingly sophisticated information literacy instruction throughout the undergraduate curriculum. Provides research and instruction services both in-person and virtually. Participates in the design, development and deployment of tutorials, research guides and other instructional tools in multiple formats and using various instructional technologies.
