Job Summary/Basic Function:
Duties:
  • Check in journals and continuations on automated system, including financial data for continuations
  • Retrieve, sort, open and deliver mail for library to and from campus mail center
  • Claim missing journal issues as needed
  • Maintain journals receipt and claims statistics
  • Check in newspapers
  • Order books and monitor status of account for McNaughton book lease program
  • Prepare requisitions and invoices for standing orders in Banner & SIRSI/Dynix systems
  • Retrieve usage statistics
  • Perform access maintenance and troubleshooting duties for the library's electronic resources
  • Search gift books in online catalog
  • Related duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Education / Experience:
    High School Diploma or GED
    PC experience
    Preferred experience: Two years library experience

    Knowledge:
    LC Classification system and Windows OS
    General office procedures
    Book publishing practices
    Familiarity with Internet

    Skills:
    Typing (30 wpm)
    Able to enter alpha-numeric data accurately
    Good communication skills
    LC Classification system

    Abilities:
    Ability to push and pull a full, wheeled mail cart up to 50 pounds
    Ability to lift boxes up to 20 pounds
