Job Summary:
The Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator manages the promotion of TALH events, advertises program initiatives, effectively communicates the goals and tenets of the program, actively serves as a talent recruitment agent seeking potential gifted and talented students for enrollment, schedules and coordinates high school, community and G/T group visits, travels to recruitment sites, and assists with the admissions processes, STEM/Humanities support camps during the summer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote TALH sponsored events and initiatives through marketing
  • Work with rising 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students to further enhance gifted and talented education
  • Coordinate, organize and present TALH recruitment events and initiatives
  • Assist the Director in marketing, recruiting, and admissions
  • Schedule and coordinate recruitment visits
  • Ability to confer with Administrators, Counselors, Teachers, Parents and Students
  • Coordinate parental participation
  • Assist in alumni outreach efforts
  • Travel to established destinations for recruitment/marketing purposes
  • Supervise and administer evening and weekend events as needed
  • Monitor and maintain social media and TALH webpage
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree in education or field related to G/T education (required)
    Knowledge and experience in gifted and talented education
    Knowledge and experience in marketing
    Experience as a recruiter and/or admissions officer in a high school or college, preferable one that specializes in gifted education
    Excellent communication and presentation skills, including social medial
    Ability to work with diverse populations
    Ability to travel, valid drivers license, with dependable transportation
    Knowledge of Lamar University and the Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities
    Record of creativity and innovation

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Preferred Qualification(s):
    Masters or Doctorate preferred
