Position Summary:
The Master of Health Administration (MHA) Student Services Assistant (SSA) position will be the primary person responsible for the recruitment and advising of students to the MHA program at MSU Denver.

Necessary Special Requirement:
This position requires travel to and from recruiting sites throughout the week. The final candidate must be able to perform this essential function of the job with or without accommodation.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Admissions & Advising (45%)
The SSA will advise prospective students with regards to their academic needs, MSU Denver in general, MHA program requirements, and the admission process. The SSA will work with the MHA Program Assistant and the MHA Academic Director to interpret and make recommendations on program-level, College-level, and University-level policies and procedures as they relate to recruitment, admission, and retention of students in the MHA program.
This position will be the primary point of contact for the application process to the MHA program, working collaboratively with the Universitys Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of Admissions. The SSA will manage the internal application process and will maintain/update applications materials and the application process as needed in collaboration with the MHA Program Assistant and the MHA Academic Director. The candidate will have a background with Slate or other admissions programs.

Recruiting and Retention (35%)
The SSA position performs the majority of the recruitment work for the MHA program in order to make established application and admission targets and promote visibility of the MHA program in the health care community across Denver, the state of Colorado, the United States, as well as international markets.
The SSA will conduct outreach and recruiting activities using available university resources, on and off campus; participates in the recruiting activities including on-campus visitation events, off-campus visitation events, informational sessions, career fairs, graduate school fairs, site visits, and networking events. He or she will develop and implement other types of creative recruiting strategies such as online seminars and other non-traditional forms of recruitment. Additionally, he or she will develop and support relationships with businesses and other schools that may serve as potential referral sources while identifying new partnerships to grow enrollment and to sponsor continuing education programs and scholarships. He or she will design and manage data collection efforts and outcome measures that contribute to academic unit and strategic decision-making and documenting need for additional resources, when necessary.

Marketing (10%)
The SSA helps develop and assist in the execution of an advertising and marketing plan to increase the internal and external exposure of MHA program in cooperation with the MHA marketing person and MHA Director. This position writes, edits, designs, maintains and distributes promotional materials relevant to the plan, including but not limited to brochures, fliers, postcards, and newsletters; and manages social media sites such as Facebook, lnstagram, Twitter, and Linkedln for the MHA program. This position manages data collection relative to the marketing plan. This position will be responsible to maintain the MHA program webpages.

Other duties as assigned (10%)
The SSA may need to support other areas of the MHA program, in general on an as needed basis.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
Administrative/customer support experience
Experience collecting and analyzing data

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
Experience with contact management software
Experience working within an academic unit
Experience in student retention initiatives
Experience advising graduate and/or undergraduate students
Experience in creating marketing materials
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with Terminal 4 and/or other website edit/design software
Strong oral and written communication skills
High attention to detail
Experience working in Banner and Slate Admissions Software or similar student information system
