Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a NSHE Specialist 1 for the Parking and Transportation Department. ***This position does not offer layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position is responsible for the overall organization and supervision of the campus multimodal programs to include the campus shuttle bus operation, the Bike Share program, the RTC Wolf Pass program, and the Zip Car program. Other duties include, but are not limited to: monitoring the usage of different modes of transit; understanding and implementing University policies and regulations; designing and coordinating routes and schedules; developing new programs and services in the area of transit; managing fleet maintenance; maintaining applicable training and certificates; recording and tracking employee training; managing the budget and approved purchases; recommending projects to further goals; solving customer complaints and inquiries; conducting employee trainings; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of relevant experience; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of program support experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada state service which included applying complex laws and regulations, composing written materials and maintaining records; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

The ability to obtain a CDL license with passenger endorsement is a condition of employment; position is subject to random DOT Drug Testing.

Requires sitting for long periods of time. Requires chaining busses (which may weigh greater than 20 pounds) in inclement weather. Requires successfully passing a medical examination report for commercial driver fitness.

Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with supervisory experience are encouraged to apply.

Applicants with knowledge of shuttle maintenance and equipment are encouraged to apply

Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
