The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a new clinical faculty member (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). This person will have a primary educational role in our DPT program, being the lead instructor for the orthopedic component of the program. The primary teaching assignment for this position is PT 631 and 632 (Musculoskeletal dysfunction I and II). Other duties include academic and scholarly assignments within the UIC Department of Physical Therapy as well as service on department, college and/or university committees as assigned by the Department Head. The faculty member recruited for this position will also be expected to develop strong synergies between the DPT program and the Department's Orthopedic Faculty Practice and Residency program.



Minimum qualifications

  • Degree in Physical Therapy and eligible for Physical Therapy Licensure in the State of Illinois

  • Previous experience as an educator in the class, laboratory and clinical setting


Preferred qualifications

  • PhD in physical therapy, rehabilitation sciences or related field

  • Advanced training in orthopedic physical therapy (i.e., residency and/or fellowship training)

  • Record of scholarship (i.e., peer reviewed publications, presentations at scientific conferences, etc.)
