PHOTOGRAPHER (Media Production Specialist I)

Primary Duties:
Position available for one year from date of hire with the possibility of renewal.Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform a broad range of photographic assignments and multimedia projects for the campus. Lead work direction will be provided by Creative Media & Technology. The work time will be split between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.

Required Education:

This knowledge and skill normally is obtained through a bachelors degree in a related field and at least one year of experience in still and motion picture photography, including a thorough knowledge of video production techniques.

Special Requirements:

The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position. This considered a sensitive position. Current CSU, Chico employees are subject to a background check (including a criminal record check) if voluntarily moving into a sensitive position, regardless of any background checks previously conducted.

Throughout employment in this position incumbent must maintain a valid California Drivers License as well as continued completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Drivers Training course.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. varied distances for location shots. Work alternates between indoors and outdoors, including exposure to extreme temperatures and inclement weather, in unique locations, such as the University Farm, Sports Stadium, etc. Must be able to travel across campus, throughout the community, and possibly outside the region.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical photo studio/office for production. Outside locations may include even and uneven surfaces, may be exposed to weather changes such as temperatures, humidity or precipitation. Evening or weekend hours will be required to complete assignments.
