Program Specialist – Financial Aid

Everett Community College is recruiting for two team members with the desire to help students navigate financial aid requirements, while maintaining a quality services attitude and culture in the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office. These positions will contribute to student success within a dynamic student services team in a collaborative, inclusive, diverse workplace.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a high volume, high energy, student-oriented environment answering questions, solving problems, and providing creative ideas for improved efficiency.

This position will provide on and off campus financial aid outreach, workshops, and presentations in Spanish and English. Will have primary responsibility for day-to-day contact, financial aid advising, guiding students, faculty, staff and parents in all aspects of Financial Aid. May supervise work-study student employees.

Will also conduct financial aid and scholarship program processing, professional file review and verification, awarding and packaging of grants and loans, award adjustments, need analysis and liaison support to other offices.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma orGED.
One or more years of applicable work experience in Financial Aid.
Fluency in Spanish, verbal and written.
Experience contributing to a pervasive workplace culture of respect, advocacy and engagement.
Professional experience in effective communication.
Accurate data entry and basic accounting skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access.
One or more years customer service experience.

It's a plus if you have:
Associate degree or higher.
Previous experience working with confidential records and/or information.
Experience with the Washington Community and Technical College Financial Aid Management system (FAM) and the Washington State BoardCEIPLUS(SMSandFMS) Student and Finance Management System.
Previous experience working with PeopleSoft systems.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations and requirements regarding financial aid.

Salary $37,476 - $49,020 plus benefits.
