Job Description

This position reports to the Director of Disability Resource Center (DRC)/ Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations of its assigned CAPS office, including maintenance of confidential and up-to-date records, building and maintaining campus and community relationships, and maintaining a positive reputation for CAPS as a resource to the campus community. The CAPS Program Manager also is the liaison to the community counseling facility on campus, provides services to the greater CSN community, including: mental health-related programming, consultation, and service on College committees (including campus safety teams).


Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, student development or a related human services field from an accredited college or university; 3 years of related professional experience counseling students, i.e., monitoring, assessing; knowledge related to the interaction of triage-help students (students who experience trauma); experience in working with a demographic diverse student population; experience in data collection, grant writing/activities and progress oran equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to collaborate and be the liaison with external entities on both programmatic and administrative issues; program marketing, outreach, and representation to campus community.
  • Experience in operational/technical leadership in day-to-day activities and supervision of administrative and coordination of clinical staff.
  • Experience with integrated program development, to include program design and planning and establishment and implementation of overall operating plans, budgets, policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with established College program objectives.
  • Experience with establishment and development of program funding.
  • Experience with management of program funds and resources.
  • Experience in crisis intervention; implementing peer education initiatives; annual training and programming, i.e., mental health prevention.
